There’s nothing like the fresh smell and crisp feeling of clothes dried outside in a fresh summer breeze. Unfortunately, we don’t always have that luxury so an electric or gas dryer is the next best thing.
An improperly functioning dryer can add considerably to your energy bills, and in some cases create a dangerous or hazardous condition for your home. A Howard’s Appliance Service technician will quickly and efficiently determine if your dryer is operating correctly and fix any hazardous condition that may exist.
Some common problems we see often are:
- Dryer won’t run
- Dryer is producing little or no heat
- The drum doesn’t spin
- The dryer gets too hot
Howard’s Appliance Service will repair or replace any of the following parts:
- Belts and Pulleys
- Heating Coils
- Thermostats and Temperature Switches
Dryer Vent Cleaning
The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) reported 16,800 structural fires in 2010 due to dryer vent fires. Dryer vents should be disconnected, cleaned and inspected every couple of years, or more frequently depending upon the length of the vent hose and complexity of installation. Also, older model dryers may not have modern safety features like moisture sensors and high temperature controls.
