Dryer Vent Cleaning
The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) reported 16,800 structural fires in 2010 due to dryer vent fires. Dryer vents should be disconnected, cleaned and inspected every couple of years, or more frequently depending upon the length of the vent hose and complexity of installation. Also, older model dryers may not have modern safety features like moisture sensors and high temperature controls.
